Third World headlines Issa Trust ‘For The Children’ New York Gala
Third World will again be the featured act at the Issa Trust Foundation ‘For The Children’ New York Gala which takes place on May 11 at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York.
The Grammy-nominated band were headliners for the inaugural show at Sony Hall in New York in 2022.
“We are looking forward to our second ‘For The Children’ Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street with Reggae Ambassadors Third World as headline performers. The funds raised will go to the operational expenses of the Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Center in St Ann,” said Paul Issa, chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation, which was founded in 2005.
The Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Center provides expertise in cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, oncology and mental health. Vision screening will be offered as well as free glasses if needed.
“Healthy children are the foundation of a thriving society. Investing in their health today ensures a brighter, more prosperous future,” said Diane Pollard, president and CEO of the Issa Trust Foundation.
“Our facility will specifically cater to children and young people, offering pediatric health care and adolescent services to the youth of the Ocho Rios general area with a holistic approach that considers not only the physical but the mental and social support for our young people.”
Formed in 1973, Third World are best known for songs such as Try Jah Love, Now That We’ve Found Love, Reggae Ambassador, 96 Degrees in The Shade, Sense of Purpose and Forbidden Love.
