St James man charged with breaches of the Firearms Act
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A 41-year-old man from St James has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition after a pistol was allegedly found in his possession on Monday.
He is Antoniel Gordon, a fisherman of Hurlock district in the parish.
Reports from the Granville police are that about 9:00 am, lawmen were on patrol in the area when they allegedly saw Gordon walking along the roadway. Gordon reportedly began acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. He was accosted and searched and one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing nine 9mm rounds of ammunition was allegedly found in his possession. Gordon was subsequently taken into custody where he was charged.
His court date is being finalised.
