Residents in West End, Negril stage roadblock protest over poor water conditionsc
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Residents of West End, Negril have mounted a roadblock in the popular tourist area to protest against the lack of adequate water and the poor road conditions in their community.
Observer Online understands that the placard-bearing protesters are demanding that the state-owned National Water Commission (NWC) address the issue regarding their water woes.
The disgruntled protesters have used boulders, garbage drums and old furniture to block the main thoroughfare from Negril town centre to West End in the resort town.
“Wi tired now, wi tired now,” one female protester shouted as she walked with her placard.
More details to come.
