Regional cricket: Academy 237-4 vs Scorpions at tea
KINGSTON, Jamaica – West Indies Academy were 237-4 at tea on the opening day of the fourth-round regional four-day cricket match against Jamaica Scorpions at Sabina Park.
The 17-year-old Joshua Dorne, who played for the West Indies team at the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year, has top-scored so far with 83 from 133 deliveries, while opener Kadeem Alleyne hit a 64-ball 52.
Jamaican left-hander Jordan Johnson, on 38, and Carlon Brown-Tuckett, on 20, are the not out batsmen. The Scorpions pacer Ojay Shields has taken 1-22.
Earlier, the Scorpions, who entered the round in fourth position with 29.6 points, won the toss and opted to bowl first against the seventh-place academy team (24 points)
