Fabulous five — Calabar’s athletes to watch at Champs 2024
1. Nickecoy Bramwell – Sprinter, Class 2
He has had a great start this season and, barring unforeseen circumstances, should lead the team to important points. Personal best times are in the 200m and 400m and he is in the form of his life. I have him to grab gold in the 200m.
2. Kammri Kennedy – Field Events ( Discus & Shot Put)
A first-year, Class 2 athlete but filled with potential. A strong medal prospect in the discus throw and likely finalist in the shot put.
3. Shaquan Gordon – 110m sprint hurdler
Gordon should be a gold medallist or medallist for the 110m hurdles. The event will be competitive; however, based on his performances, he should have Calabar high in contention. Meanwhile, in the 100m he should be in the final eight.
4. Chedan Brown – Sprinter, Class 3
Calabar are pretty solid in the lower classes and Chedan will be expected to deliver important points for the team.
5. Robert Miller – Hurdler (110m hurdles & 400m hurdles), Class 2
The man to beat in the Class 2 400m hurdles and a force to reckon with in the sprint hurdles.
