‘Zeeki’ wanted for questioning after M16 seizure
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Following a targeted operation in the Duncan’s Pen area of Spanish Town, the St Catherine North Police have listed one man as a person of interest.
According to law enforcers, a successfully executed police-military operation on Thursday led to the seizure of an M16 Rifle with its serial number erased, along with two magazines and twenty-five 5.56 cartridges. The weapon was left behind by a man during a police pursuit.
Police say during the raid, a man was observed acting in a manner that raised suspicions. Upon the advance of the team, the man attempted to flee the scene, during which he dropped the rifle.
The police have since named Rageek Williams, also known as Zeeki, of Corlettes Road, Spanish Town, in relation to this incident. Williams is being advised to present himself at the Spanish Town Police Station or the nearest police station to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force is also urging anyone with information regarding Williams’ whereabouts or any other information pertinent to the case to contact police emergency at 119, Crime Stop at 311, the NIB Tip Line at 811, or the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, Head of the St Catherine North Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Howard Chambers, is commending key stakeholders in his division for their support and partnership with the JCF as it continues to bolster efforts to enhance safety and security across the parish.
SSP Chambers highlighted the division’s strategic approach to combating crime, “Since the start of the month of March, the St Catherine North Division has embarked on high-intensity operations across the entire division, focusing mainly on our hot spot areas including those areas in the Spanish Town environs and Linstead zone.”
