Sagicor Bank to host ‘Blooming Dames’ Soirée in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024
KINGSTON, Jamaica – In celebration of its female clientele, who make up more than 49 per cent of its customer base, Sagicor Bank Jamaica (SBJ) is gearing up to host its much-anticipated International Women’s Day empowerment event.
The event, ‘Blooming Dames: Inspire Inclusion’ is set for Friday, March 8, against the natural backdrop of The Ruins at University of the West Indies, Mona Visitors’ Lodge.
According to Sagicor Bank, the soirée promises to be an unforgettable celebration of women’s achievements, resilience, and unwavering spirit.
Sagicor Bank’s CEO, Chorvelle Johnson Cunningham, commented: “The power and influence of women in the business world cannot be overstated. Women are the backbone of innovative and thriving economies globally and, in Jamaica, we see this reflected with a significant portion of our enterprises spearheaded by visionary women. Through this event, which will bring together women from various socio-economic backgrounds, our goal is to ensure every woman leaves feeling empowered, valued and reminded of their indispensable roles in society.”
In a press release on Friday, Sagicor Bank revealed that the event’s location will be transformed into a “whimsical wonderland” for the night with a picnic-at-night concept.
“Apart from the nuggets of knowledge to be shared, the incomparable Tessanne Chin will grace the stage, enchanting listeners with her powerhouse vocals, while legendary songstress Marcia Griffiths will charm attendees with her timeless voice. Guests will also be serenaded under the stars by renowned saxophonist Carolyn Yapp,” the statement read.
Catering to comfort and relaxation, there will be manicure, pedicure and make-up stations on site, guaranteed to make attendees feel like royalty as they indulge in a little self-care. An array of food stations will also be on-site, offering tantalising delights, from gourmet delicacies to a mouthwatering selection of beverages.
“Our female clients truly deserve their moment in the spotlight for the incredible work they do in their businesses—and for many of them—all while dedicating the necessary time and care to their families. Its Women Business Programme, launched in 2017, spotlights women-led businesses in various sectors, sharing their stories of courage, determination and success.
Some 100 women are gearing up to attend the event, Sagicor Bank revealed.
