Pinnock equals national indoor record while winning NCAA long jump

BOSTON, USA – Wayne Pinnock of the University of Arkansas has moved into a three- way-tie with James Beckford and Carey McLeod, after he equalled the Jamaican national indoor men’s long jump record.

This was done after Pinnock won the event with 8.40m on Friday’s second day of the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.

Pinnock, who was fourth last year, surpassed his previous personal best of 8.34m twice after he jumped 8.36m in the second round and then went further in the fourth round before fouling his final two attempts.
