PR consultant Marcia Erskine has died
Renowned public relations practitioner Marcia Erskine has died.
Observer Online understands that Erskine passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday night.
The Trinidad and Tobago-born Erskine served as public relations consultant for the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association and also provided communications support for a number of corporate entities across the Caribbean including CIBC, British Airways, Delta Airlines, BWIA and ESPN Caribbean.
A trained journalist with a degree in mass communication from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, she began her career as a reporter with the Trinidad Guardian and then Trinidad Express in the 1970s, before joining The Gleaner Company in 1981.
Erskine was the recipient of the 2014 Marcella Martinez award which recognises the achievements of individuals whose work have shared the Caribbean experience with the world.
She was the principal of PR firm, Marcia Erskine and Associates.
