B4 Carnival ready to unleash
Dubbed the ultimate pre-Carnival soca fete, B4 Carnival is set to unfold this Saturday, March 9, at 36 Hope Road.
“The idea behind the event B4 Carnival is to heighten the excitement leading up to the Carnival season in Jamaica, which traditionally commences with the UWI Carnival. B4 Carnival aims to unite various soca crews, industry partners, band leaders, and patrons who relish soca and dancehall music. It serves as a gathering point for pre-Carnival festivities, fostering an atmosphere brimming with anticipation and enjoyment,” said Adrian Swaby, director of B4 Carnival.
Some of the finest DJs are set to ignite partygoers with the latest hits. The line-up includes the in-demand Kevi The Kinetic, DJ Ramon, Matt Camps, Zess and Fyahman, DJ Taj, and ZJ Romzii.
Said Swaby: “Patrons can anticipate an exhilarating atmosphere brimming with entertainment. As the name suggests, B4 Carnival offers more than just soca music, it features specially curated dancehall sets that promise to captivate our patrons.”
The first staging of B4 Carnival took place in March 2017 at the Mona Hockey Field.
“The support for the first event was phenomenal, garnering recognition and backing from prominent figures in the entertainment industry. With approximately 800 patrons attending the first staging, the event also attracted multiple celebrity guests, a testament to its growing popularity and appeal within the community,” said Swaby.
He shared that the event has grown since its inception.
“Over time, B4 Carnival has undergone significant evolution. Initially conceived as a cooler fete, it has since transitioned to a paid bar format. This change has not only enhanced accessibility for patrons but also facilitated a more inclusive experience for attendees and sponsors alike,” shared Swaby.
