Pregnant spouse accused of smuggling contraband to paralegal murder suspect to return to court Thursday
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The pregnant common-law partner of the St Andrew mechanic accused of killing paralegal Sandra Risden is set to return to court on Thursday, March 7, when a formal bail application is expected to be made.
The woman, who is six months pregnant, is charged with introducing contraband to a lock-up and unlawful possession of property. She was arrested allegedly during an attempt to smuggle contraband to her spouse in police custody last month.
She appeared before Senior Parish Judge, Paula Blake-Powell, at the Corporate Area parish court on Tuesday. She was remanded until her next court appearance.
It is reported that the woman brought food for her partner when a routine check of the container revealed a second container which included contraband such as lighters, marijuana, Rizzla packs, and cell phones.
