Fuller, Fluffier, ‘So Fem’ brows
Whether you call her the “Brow Master”, or the “Arch Queen”, brow stylist Nikayla Davis is the name behind the brows of Project Kase founder Kasi Bennett, as well as social media influencers and YouTubers Tanaania Tracey and Kenese Jacques. The former body wax specialist is also an entrepreneur who continues to build a thriving brow empire. Her focus? Brow lamination, tinting, and sculpting.
“I started doing eyebrows at the start of the pandemic, in 2020. During that time I was getting booked more frequently for eyebrow waxing, and I became super-comfortable with offering that service,” Davis tells Tuesday Style Dryer (TSD).
“In 2022, I decided to only offer eyebrow services. I committed to widening my knowledge and was subsequently trained by two international brow educators: Australian Browtique By K and American Brows by Zulema. It’s been almost three years since So Fem Brows was started, and I have seen such tremendous growth,” she continues.
Her most requested service? Brow lamination, a trending brow grooming treatment that involves a perm that holds hairs in a slicked-up shape. It’s pretty much the popular soap brow trend on steroids and is the name attributed to those feathered, slicked-up, high-shine brows taking over Instagram and TikTok feeds.
Davis says the ‘brushed-up’ look is currently the most sought-after shape, though the desired one should be dependent on the unique shape the client’s face and eyes.
