Dunbeholden FC into Wray and Nephew JPL playoff spot
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dunbeholden FC have moved into a play-off spot in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League after a 3-0 beating of Harbour View in their return round game played at the stadium east complex on Monday.
Dunbeholden FC’s third straight win and fifth straight undefeated saw them improve to 33 points and into sixth place ahead of Waterhouse FC, who are on 30 points with a handful of games left to be played.
Defending champions Mt Pleasant FA have booked their spot in the play-offs and should be joined by Cavalier SC if they win their next game.
On Monday, Dwight Merrick gave Dunbeholden FC the lead in the 34th minute but they had to wait until the 72nd minute when Carlington Blackwood added a second.
A mistake by the Harbour View goalkeeper, Glenroy Samuel, rushing off his line and dribbling the ball to the edge of his 18 yards box before losing possession, led to former Harbour View player Rojay Smith adding a third goal in the 90th minute to avenge their first round 2-0 loss.
