Cavalier held by Humble Lion in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Cavalier SC missed an opportunity to retake the lead in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League after they had to come from behind to earn a point from a 1-1 draw against Humble Lion at the stadium east complex on Monday.
Cavalier SC had beaten Humble Lion 2-1 in the first round but were down 1-0 in the 56th minute when Andre Clennon was well-placed to beat goalkeeper Jeadine White from about six yards out, curling the ball around the custodian into the far right corner.
Jalmaro Calvin rerouted a cross from Leovani Laing past the Humble Lion goalkeeper in the 79th minute to rescue a point for Cavalier.
The draw saw Cavalier SC move to 42 points, two less than leaders Mt Pleasant FA, with a game in hand.
Humble Lion are not clear of the relation zone yet, on 19 points in the 12th spot, just seven points ahead of the drop zone.
