Wailers to perform at Montreux Jazz Festival Miami
The Wailers are among the artistes to headline the inaugural Montreux Jazz Festival Miami, March 1 to 3, at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Coconut Grove.
Led by Aston Barrett Jr, whose father “Familyman” and uncle Carlton were original founding members of Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers continue to preserve the legacy of reggae and Bob Marley’s music through their performances of timeless classics and incredible cuts from Bob Marley’s vast repertoire.
Sharing their messages of love, unity, and social justice, their performances bring together audiences of diverse backgrounds and generations.
Miami now joins other global cities to host a Montreux Jazz Festival, which is usually known as a summer event that takes place at Lake Geneva, Switzerland.
The event celebrates contemporary and emerging jazz musicians whilst playing homage to music’s legendary acts.
“As a city of cultural connection, Miami naturally lends itself to the musical diversity that Montreux has become synonymous with. We believe that the waterfront location and the artistes performing in this first edition are a true reflection of the original Montreux Jazz Festival experience,” said Montreux Jazz Festival CEO and Director Mathieu Jaton.
Montreux Jazz Festival Miami promises other extraordinary artiste performances at the intimate waterfront venue in Coconut Grove’s historical Dinner Key Marina.
Also on the line-up with The Wailers is Grammy Award-winning Jon Baptist, Daryl Hall, Emily Estefan, Israel Houghton, Cuban musician Cimafunk and others.
