WATCH: JLP alleges bias by security forces in Rae Town Division
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) liaison in the Rae Town Division in Kingston Central Orlando Walters is livid that supporters of the People’s National Party (PNP) are being allowed to play party songs and gather in sections of the division.
Walters told Observer Online that members of the security forces have seized music boxes in the sections of the community loyal to the JLP while music and dancing is being allowed in the sections loyal to the PNP.
The Observer’s team saw a group of PNP supporters partying on Sutton Street metres from the polling station at the Calabar Infant and Primary School shortly before 10:00 am.
There was also a van driving through sections of the division blasting PNP party songs for much of the morning.
The Rae Town Division is one of those being closely watched in the Corporate Area after the JLP’s Rosalie Hamilton won it by a single vote over the PNP’S Shawn McGregor.
The two are clashing for the second time in today’s election.
