Robinson confident of PNP victory in Trafalgar Division
St Andrew South Eastern Member of Parliament Julian Robinson says he has no doubts that People’s National Party (PNP) candidate Jesse Clarke will take the Trafalgar Division in today’s local government election.
“I’m confident that we’ll retain the division on behalf of the People’s National Party. In the general of 2020, we won the division by over 300 votes. Clarke has been in the division for a while. He has been working and I think he has gained the confidence of the majority of the people,” Robinson told Observer Online at a polling station at Andrews Memorial Hospital.
Clarke is contesting the division against the Jamaica Labour Party’s Kari Douglas, who won the 2016 local government election on a PNP ticket.
“The division has been won by the PNP on the last three occasions and the PNP base is more energised now than it was three years ago. I am confident that once the PNP supporters come out, which I know they will, then we will be victorious,” Robinson said.
The MP further urged supporters of both parties to maintain peace in the division as voting continued.
