‘It is going to be close’, says JLP’s Delapenha
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for the Royal Flat Division in Manchester Central, Richard Delapenha, says he is optimistic of victory in what believes will be a close race.
“We are doing our best. We would have done our work. We would have done our canvas and our team is out,” he said in Broadleaf, Manchester with under two hours to go until the close of polls.
“I am not going to be overly confident. It is going to be a close one. I am always an optimistic person, so I believe we stand a very good chance to bring this seat home for the Jamaica Labour Party,” added Delapenha.
He is challenging the PNP’s Donovan Mitchell. In 2016 Delapenha had lost to Mitchell by 202 votes.
