Four winners in boys’ 4x100m relays at Gibson/McCook
KINGSTON, Jamaica— There were four winners in the high school boys’ sprint relay finals at the 47th Gibson/McCook Relays at the National Stadium with St Jago High, Excelsior High, Calabar High and Jamaica College all coming out victorious.
St Jago won the Class 1 boys’ final in 40.45 seconds despite some questionable baton changes, beating Kingston College (40.47) seconds and Jamaica College who placed third in 40.90 seconds.
After having their protest against a disqualification in the first round upheld, Excelsior High won the Class 2 final in a smart 40.65 seconds, Kingston College was second in 40.76 seconds and Calabar High third in 41.91 seconds.
The Calabar High Class 3 team won in 43.26 seconds, followed by Kingston College’s 43.55 and St Jago High was third in 43.74 seconds.
Jamaica College retained their Class 4 title, running 45.86 seconds to beat St Jago (45.92) seconds and Kingston College was third with 46.28 seconds.
The Racers TC team, anchored by Great Britain’s national 100m and 200m record holder Zharnel Hughes, won the Men’s Clubs and Institutions 4x100m in a world leading 38.88 seconds.
