Edwin Allen wins two of four high school girls’ 4x100m relays
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Edwin Allen High won two of the four high school girls’ sprint relays at Saturday’s 47th Gibson/McCook Relays at the National Stadium as they look towards next month’s ISSA Girls’ Championships.
The Michael Dyke-coached girls won Classes 1 and 2, St Jago High won Class 3 and Hydel High retained their Class 4 title, all four races ran during a light rain.
The Edwin Allen team ran 45.68 seconds to win the Class 1 final, Hydel High was second in 46.79 seconds and Holmwood Technical was third in 46.88 seconds.
The Class 2 team had the fastest time of the day, running 45.34 seconds, ahead of St Jago High-46.23 seconds and Hydel High third in 46.70 seconds.
St Jago High took the Class 3 title in 46.10 seconds, beating Edwin Allen- 46.19 seconds and Hydel High- 46.67 seconds.
Hydel High won Class 4 with 48.13 seconds, beating Edwin Allen- 48.38 seconds with Alpha Academy third in 49.15 seconds.
