Alphansus Davis High creates history with Mixed 4x400m win
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Alphansus Davis High were double champions at Saturday’s 47th staging of the Gibson/McCook Relays at the National Stadium, including winning the first ever Mixed 4x400m relays ever held in Jamaica.
Alphansus Davis High also won the girls’ 4x800m relay, while Jamaica College defended their boys’ 4x800m title.
The anchor leg runner on the Alphansus Davis High team, chased and caught the two teams ahead of them to win in 3:32.83 seconds as Holmwood Technical was second in 3:33.60 seconds and Edwin Allen High finished third in 3:35.05 seconds.
Later in the day, they prevailed in the 4x800m after placing third last year, winning in 9:02.83 seconds, ahead of Edwin Allen High- 9:02.96 seconds and Holmwood Technical 9:04.33 seconds.
Jamaica College clocked 7:45.87 seconds to win their final, beating Kingston College (7:52.36 seconds)and Calabar High with 8:04.67 seconds.
