Vanriel stands on a solid record
Dear Editor,
I would like to commend long-standing People’s National Party (PNP) politician and former PNP Councillor Bernard Vanriel for the outstanding service which he has given to the parish of Westmoreland over the past 50 years.
The accomplished politician is a former PNP councillor for the Cornwall Mountain Division from 1977-1981, 1990-2007, and 2009-2016. Cumulatively among the longest-serving PNP councillors at the then Westmoreland Parish Council. He has had an impressive, respected, and solid track record throughout his tenure as councillor and was totally committed to his division and to the local government system.
Still active as a political advocate in Westmoreland, he is the mentor to some of the young up-and-coming PNP politicians and follows closely the political happenings in the parish of Westmoreland. He remains a loyal, dedicated, and committed member of the PNP, and no one has ever questioned his integrity for he has steadfastly held and maintained a high moral conduct and performance during his political and business career. He is a prominent Westmoreland citizen of immense political and business experience, respected throughout the parish.
Vanriel is a former chairman of the Caledonia Primary School, serving for a period of 15 years; a former chairman of Strawberry Primary School for a period of 20 years; and a former chairman of We Kids Basic School in Westmoreland.
