Oils well for Amsoil
Miracle Corporation Limited, local distributors for the Amsoil brand, held the first of their two meet and greet events on Wednesday, February 21, at The Liguanea Club, New Kingston. The second will take place on Saturday, February 24, at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, Montego Bay.
Richard Lee, CEO, Miracle Corporation, discussed the over quarter-century link with the Amsoil brand, explaining that his late father, in partnership with a Trinidadian friend, was so intrigued by the brand that they flew to the Amsoil headquarters in Wisconsin to seek out the current business arrangement in the mid-90s.
“The owner was shocked to hear that two people from the Caribbean flew to Wisconsin to ask for the agency for those two countries,” said Lee.
Retail clients were updated on new and upcoming lubricants while rubbing shoulders with Amsoil management, represented by Lucy Ibanez, senior territory manager, Latin America and the Caribbean; Laurent Leduc, senior director, international business; and Amber Gurske, business development & marketing manager, international business.
“We’ve been working with our distributor in Jamaica, Miracle Corporation, for over 25 years. They’ve given a lot of solidarity to the brand and consistency. Amsoil is focused on high quality and principles as we make products we stand behind. And partnering with Miracle Corporation we’ve been able to bring that message to Jamaica,” said Ibanez.
Gurske mirrored Ibanez comments.
“They also know the brand and the products very well. When you listen to Richard [Lee] or any member of the Miracle Corporation staff speak about the products they’re extremely knowledgeable and that definitely carried through to their end users,” she added.
Sean Macdonald, automotive technician and owner of Xtreme Autosound & Electronics, for his part, said: “My favourite Amsoil product is not a lubricant, but it’s actually their power foam cleaner, because I can use that to clean the fuel injector system, intake manifolds, carburettors, etc.”
Among the displays were a relaunched extended life motor oil which can be used for up to a year or 20,000 miles (32,000 kilometres). Amsoil also showed off its innovation of the only non-OEM Dual-Clutch Transmissions (DCT) fluid available on the market, targeted at many European vehicles that use this type of technology.
Gurske shared that, in tandem with Miracle Corporation, there will soon see the introduction of lubricants aimed at hybrid vehicles to better serve the local market.
