Big wins for STETHS, CC in Headley Cup
Champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) swept to a 305-run win over BB Coke High School in the ISSA/Grace Headley Cup cricket competition on Tuesday
Batting first on home soil in Santa Cruz, STETHS cruised to 321 for two wickets declared with Odaine Binns, 96, and Captain Tyriek Bryan, 95, leading the way.
Left-arm fast bowler Adrian Silvera then grabbed seven wickets for five runs as BB Coke were brushed aside for 16.
At Claude McKay High School, Clarendon College cruised to a comfortable 10-wicket win over Claude McKay High.
The home team were dismissed for 28 with Clarendon’ s seamers Tequan Roberts (6 wickets for six) and Kenardo Cameron (four wickets for 17) running through the batting. Clarendon College responded with 33 for zero with Kenardo Cunningham 24 not out.
At Treasure Beach, Munro College beat Black River High School by 87 runs. Led by Triston Forde’s 71, Munro made 187 all out. Black River High responded with 100 all out.
At Vere Technical High School, the home team played to a draw with Glenmuir High School in a game disrupted by afternoon rain.
West Indies Under-19 batsman Adrian Weir top scored with 91 while Deshaun Smith made 34 to carry Vere Technical to 156-6 declared. Glenmuir High were 13-2 when stumps were drawn.
At York Castle High School (Monday, February 19), York Castle beat Ferncourt High School by 83 runs. York Castle High made 111 all out with Jantay Staple (three for 15) and Mercardo Braham (three for 17) doing most damage for Ferncourt High. Marco-Dean Clarke top scored for York Castle with 23.
York Castle’s seam bowlers Clarke (five for 11) and Jajuan Brown (five for 15) then skittled Ferncourt High for 28.
