2 sweet Suzuki
Stewart’s Auto Sales Limited, local authorised dealers for the Suzuki brand of motor vehicles, launched their newest sport utility vehicles on Saturday, February 17 on the East Lawns of Devon House in St Andrew.
The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara has been on the road for a short while now, but Saturday’s event was its official introduction to the wider market. One of Suzuki’s most popular models, it now boasts a robust yet sophisticated design. In front a large polygonal front grille with a finely crafted pattern, a bold chrome grille bar is surrounded by unique 3-point signature lamps. A strong shoulder line runs from the front to rear terminating into a thin light bar for the rear lamps.
Available in two trims, GL and GLX, the interior quality and design pushes the Grand Vitara a bit upmarket. Seats can be had with leather while features such as ambient cabin lights, head-up display and a panoramic sunroof add to the high-class experience of the cabin.
Motivating the Grand Vitara is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid set-up. Along with the petrol engine, an integrated starter generator (ISG) performs as a generator as well as an electric motor, sending power to a lithium-ion battery that helps the vehicle when starting from a standstill or accelerating in order to improve fuel efficiency. This all works with a six-speed automatic transmission optimised for the best balance of performance and efficiency.
The smaller Fronx retains the main front and rear signatures of the Grand Vitara, but follows the popular SUV-coupé styling in its target segment, the subcompact SUV. Aimed at the younger or first-time buyer, the Fronx presents a sportier, more extroverted experience for those with a more active lifestyle. It shares many of the Grand Vitara’s mechanical and technological features, just in a smaller package.
