Regional cricket: Scorpions 172-5 vs Pride at tea
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Scorpions were 172-5 at tea on the first day of the regional four-day match against Barbados Pride at Sabina Park on Wednesday.
The not out batsmen are Romaine Morris, on 39, Captain Jermaine Blackwood, on 17. Fast bowler Jair McAllister and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican have both taken two wickets.
Earlier, the Pride won the toss and asked the Scorpions to take first strike in sunny conditions.
After losing the experienced Chadwick Walton (five) early, the hosts reached 72-1 at lunch.
But they lost quick wickets, including Carlos Brown and Kirk McKenzie who both made 40, after the break before Morris and Blackwood stemmed the tide with their unbeaten 50-run sixth-wicket partnership.
