Ex-boyfriend accused of setting Alecia King on fire, captured
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica -The ex-boyfriend of burn-victim Alecia King, Antwone Grey has been captured by police during an operation in Central Village, St Catherine, on Wednesday.
Gray was apprehended hours after he was listed on this week of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Wanted Wednesday.
His capture was confirmed by the head of JCF’s Corporate Communications Unit, Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay.
The 19-year-old was reportedly held by police sometime after 1:00 pm. A female was found in his company and she was also taken into custody.
His capture came a day after King returned to the island, after receiving treatment at the Shriners Hospital in Miami, Florida, where she underwent life-saving treatment for her injuries.
On August 24, King endured immeasurable pain after she was doused with flammable liquid and set ablaze by a man believed to be Grey. She was rushed to the Linstead Hospital, then moved to the University Hospital of the West Indies in the Intensive Care Unit, before her family approached Sanmerna Foundation for help in getting her overseas to save her life.
