Big win for Tacky after dismissing Tacius Golding for four
Batting three short, Tacius Golding High School were dismissed for four runs in three overs and four balls as Tacky High School romped to a 299-run win in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/Grace Headley Cup cricket competition at Port Esquivel on Monday.
Tacky High School piled up 303 for three declared after winning the toss, with Marlon Williams stroking an unbeaten 113, Tyson Gordon was run out for 67, while Trevaun Williams made 56 not out.
Tacky’s fast bowlers Jevone Wynter, with three wickets for no run in two overs, and Jordan Pinnock three wickets for four runs then made short work of the Tacius Golding batting. A seventh wicket fell via the run out route.
Michael Peterson hit a boundary for Tacius Golding’s only runs.
At Cornwall College, bad light stopped play to force a draw between Cornwall and Ocho Rios High. Cornwall made 300 for eight wickets declared with Damien Daley, 85; Shaya Samuels, 57; and Dishon Evans, 32, leading the scoring.
Ocho Rios High reached 83 for four with Dishawn Gayle not out on 42 when bad light intervened.
At Cambridge High School, the home team beat Herbert Morrison Technical High by seven wickets. Herbert Morrison made 110 all out. Ackeem Clarke 35 not out and Desmond Dunn, 33, carried Cambridge High to victory at 111 for three wickets.
At Addison Park, Brown’s Town High beat Green Pond High by 92 runs. Brown’s Town High 201 for six declared as Raheim Brown top-scored with 58. Green Pond High were bowled out for 109.
At Windalco Sports Club, Orjay Whittingham’s all-round effort carried Dinthill Technical High School to an eight-wicket win over Port Antonio High School. Whittingham took 4 for 15, fellow pacer Jemone James three for 14 and off spinner Nathan Cameron 3 for 11, as Port Antonio High were dismissed for 60. Dinthill Technical achieved victory at 65 for two, with Whittingham unbeaten on 42.
At Charlemont High, visitors Old Harbour High were awarded points because of an unprepared pitch.
