Romero Jennings wants all the smoke!
Beauty trends are often born during New York Fashion Week (NYFW). Each season, without fail, lead make-up and hairstylists create fresh looks which we unashamedly copy for months to come.
This year, we’re loving the smoked-out eye make-up trend that emerged at the Helmut Lang Fall/Winter 2024 presentation on February 9. The glam team, led by make-up artist Daniel Sallstrom and including Jamaican fave Romero Jennings — both working with MAC Cosmetics — was inspired by the elements.
“The idea of it was you have someone’s make-up done perfectly, and then they go out and the weather just catches them — it’s unpredictable,” Sallstrom told
Bustle backstage. “It’s really embracing nature ruining what you spent hours doing.” In this case, many of the looks featured a dragged-out, super-smudged eye, which had very ’90s grunge vibes.
Get into the look.
