Low turnout, but good vibes at Lovers Sensation in Cayman
Promoters did not get the huge crowd anticipated but they still felt the passion at the Lovers Sensation show held on Valentine’s Day in George Town, Cayman.
Held at Lions Center, it had harmony quartet LUST as headliners and Start Di Fun Entertainment as promoters.
Andrea Wright, a spokesperson for that organisation, described Lovers Sensation as, “An amazing event. The setting captured the Valentine’s Day theme very well and the reaction to LUST was superb!”
She told Observer Online that the opening of the Marley movie, Bob Marley: One Love, on the same date was a big factor in the low turnout. Fans were entertained by sound system Sound Revolution, and selectors Bobo Stylz, Slaughter Rich and Super C prior to LUST taking the stage.
“We had high notes, long notes and baritone blends. The audience got to their feet and skanked to the solo segments from Singing Melody, Tony Curtis, Lukie D and Thriller U. From gospel and soul to rub-a-dub and dancehall, LUST kept the audience on their toes,” said Wright.
It marked the live music show debut as a promoter for the actress, best known to theatre fans as Delcita. While the turnout was not massive, she is unfazed.
“The Bob Marley movie premiere took out a nice slice of the Valentine’s cake, but its all One Love! Cayman is forever my place and patrons appreciated a dolled-up Delcita,” she joked.
Wright’s next project is The Real Wife, a March 31 play in Toronto in which she co-stars with David Tulloch.
