Car crash in southern Serbia kills 3 migrants; driver suspected of people-smuggling

BELGRADE, Serbia — A car crash in southern Serbia has killed three migrants and injured 11 others, and the driver detained for suspected people-smuggling, police said on Tuesday.

According to a report from The Associated Press, the 43-year-old Serbian driver had no driver’s license and was among those injured in the crash late Monday.

AP News said a video on state RTS television showed a smashed white car being taken away from the scene. The report said the vehicle swerved off the road at a high speed.
