Spur Tree craters — a disaster waiting to happen
Dear Editor,
Three large, crater-like holes decorate the corner, right after descending the steep hill on the Spur Tree main road. They are clearly a disaster waiting to happen as they have got bigger over several months.
Serious navigation skills are required when approaching these craters. At times motorists have to drive to the far right, just to avoid causing damage to their vehicles. In this regard they render themselves and other motorists vulnerable to accidents which can be fatal.
The questions: Do politicians use these roads? Has anyone made a report to the relevant authorities? Do accidents need to occur before they are fixed?
As citizens, we have a right to proper roads.
As we commute we need to feel safe that routes taken on a daily basis, especially the main roads, are free from craters/potholes.
Election campaigning is in high gear. Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Members of Parliament, and their supporters are sure to continue their islandwide campaigning, and so at some point use this road. Consequently, we might see these craters attended to.
Hoping for speedy repairs.
