WATCH: St Andrew North Division honours 53 members in prize-giving ceremony
The St Andrew North Division recognised its members on Friday during the Commander’s Parade and Prize-Giving Ceremony held on the grounds of the Constant Spring Primary and Infant School.
A total of 53 members of the division were honoured during the ceremony for their outstanding service and achievements in 2023.
Superintendent of Police Sherika Service, Commanding Officer of the St Andrew North Division, commended the awardees for their work in the division, which resulted in an overall reduction in all serious and violent crimes in 2023 compared to 2022.
In her remarks, Service revealed that the division achieved a 64.4 per cent clear-up rate for murder.
“We saw an increase in our clear-up rate in 2023 compared to 2022. In fact, in 2023, the clear-up rate for murders was 64.4 per cent, which is above the average that the JCF (Jamaica Constabulary Force) set for us as a target,” Superintendent Service said.
