Granville United seek semi-final spot in Sandals Major League
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Former champions Granville United could take their spot in the semi-finals of the St James Football Association/Sandals Major League on Saturday, if they can beat Green Pond SC in their return leg game set to be played at Green Pond High, starting at 3:30 pm.
Granville United are on 11 points and in second place in Zone A behind zone winners Flanker United and could take their semi-final spot with a game in hand.
They won the first game 4-0 and will face a Green Pond SC team that has a slim chance of advancing and are expected to win.
They are hoping Renaldo Clarke, Andrew Tate and Dane Franklin can get on the score sheets.
In another game, Irwin United and Montego Bay Boys Club, who had played out a 1-1 draw in the first round, will meet at Irwin High in a Zone B team.
Neither team has any chance of advancing to the next round but a win today would be a big boost.
