Carter’s hundred repels Scorpions on day one
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jonathan Carter hit an unbeaten century as Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) reached 260-7 against Jamaica Scorpions on day one of the second-round regional four-day match at Sabina Park.
Carter, the CCC skipper, struck 12 fours in his 108 off 182 balls to steady his team after the Scorpions began the day brightly with two early wickets. He is to resume on Thursday with Zishan Motara, who is on 28.
Pacers Ojay Shields and Gordon Bryan and wrist spinner Abhijai Mansingh have taken two wickets each for the Scorpions who had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Both teams began the tournament with losses last week.
The Jermaine Blackwood-captained Scorpions lost by nine wickets to Windward Islands Volcanoes at Sabina Park, while the CCC went down by the same margin to Barbados Pride at Chedwin Park in St Catherine.
