WATCH: PNP will take Westmoreland, Campbell says ahead of local government election
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — People’s National Party leader Mark Golding and his team are currently touring the parish of Westmoreland ahead of the local government election.
Golding is expected to meet and greet with supporters of Eastern and Central parts of the parish. The tour started in Whitehouse, where councillor candidate Micheal Jackson will be running, and will culminate in the Savanna-La-Mar Division with a spot meeting.
On the tour, the party’s general secretary and Member of Parliament aspirant for Westmoreland Eastern Dr Dayton Campbell, rubbished claims that Westmoreland will be won by the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
“I hear some people running off dem mouth about Westmoreland, say dem a guh win Westmoreland. Dem nuh worry wi, nuh day, nuh time, nuh tall. On the 26th of February, the Whitehouse Division will be solidly in the column of the People’s National Party,” Campbell declared.
“Eastern Westmoreland, the parish of Westmoreland will be solidly in the column of the People’s National Party. And they’re going to be in the column of the party because the PNP is committing to be faithful to the people of Westmoreland who have always been faithful to the People’s National Party,” Campbell reassured.
Golding was joined by scores of party supporters clad in orange along with councillor caretaker for the Darliston Divisional, Jerome Bacchas who delivered the greetings.
