Leon Bailey signs new contract with Aston Villa
Leon Bailey has signed a new contract with English Premier League side Aston Villa, the club announced on Monday.
The Jamaican winger joined Villa in the summer of 2021 and has gone on to make 87 appearances in claret and blue, scoring 16 goals.
After initially struggling with form after joining from Bayer Leverkusen, Bailey has emerged as one of coach Unai Emery’s most important players.
The Jamaican international has netted 10 times in all competitions so far this term, registering nine assists.
Bailey started his journey in football with KRC Genk in Belgium before joining Bayer Leverkusen.
The new contract with Aston Villa will reportedly make Bailey among the highest paid players at the club.
In commenting on the agreement, Phoenix Sports Management boss Craig Butler, who represents Bailey, said: “We are extremely proud of Leon; he has put in the work on the pitch, stayed loyal to us and in return we have zealously advocated on his behalf.
“So very proud of you my son. We keep going,” Butler wrote on social media.
