Actor and talk show host Whoopi Goldberg — who has made no secret in recent years of people she’d like to cast in her in-the-works Sister Act 3 project — has added an old friend to the list: Sheryl Lee Ralph.
When the Abbott Elementary star appeared on The View last Wednesday, Goldberg asked her to potentially star in the flick. Ralph was moved to tears by the offer, which came just after Goldberg had invited her to take part in a planned Sister Act reunion on The View.
“We’re in the process of putting together [Sister Act] 3. Would you come be part of it, whatever it is?” Goldberg asked Ralph, whose eyes welled up with tears as she exclaimed Goldberg’s name. The Emmy Award-winning actress had a small part in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit as the mother of one of Goldberg’s students.
Ralph appeared on the ABC talk show to celebrate the return of Abbott Elementary, which kicked off its newest season on Wednesday, February 7.
