SO2 – Haveli for PURE

Let’s start with…

Haveli’s first AW24 Collection at the PURE x JATCA Trade Show.

Haveli, the female-owned Jamaican fashion brand known for its artisanal textiles and relaxed, feminine designs, is set to debut its first AW24 collection at the PURE London x JATCA showroom. The event scheduled for February 11-13, 2024 will showcase the brand’s ‘easy elegant’ design aesthetic and sustainable approach to resortwear.

Designed in Jamaica and made in Jaipur, the collection blends both Caribbean and Indian heritage influences to create a collection of timeless essentials for a relaxed setting. All in luxurious natural, biodegradable textiles using natural non-toxic dyes and colour fasteners. The collection features hand-block printing, Chikankari embroidery, lustrous silk satin, fine linen and organic cotton showcasing the brand’s commitment to honouring heritage through ethical production. Haveli’s founder and creative director, Mina Robertson, will be present at the booth to provide insights into the brand’s mission, inspirations for the collection and production process.

The assignment: Black tie, black designer!
The result? Hollywood starlets in the most coveted Brandon Blackwood bags as Aurora James’ Fifteen Percent Pledge gala made its starry debut in Los Angeles. Taking place amid the rush of Grammy Awards pre-and-post events, the gala hosted by Robin Thede raised money for the non-profit organisation Fifteen Percent Pledge, which asks retailers to devote 15 per cent of shelf space to products from black-owned brands.

Greta Constantine designer and co-founder Kirk Pickersgill was recently recognised by the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles & San Diego with the Key to the Consulate.
The Key to the Consulate is presented to global Canadians building bridges between Canada and Los Angeles in culture and creativity and who use their platforms to elevate others in the name of advancing inclusivity and equity.

Actor and talk show host Whoopi Goldberg — who has made no secret in recent years of people she’d like to cast in her in-the-works Sister Act 3 project — has added an old friend to the list: Sheryl Lee Ralph.
When the Abbott Elementary star appeared on The View last Wednesday, Goldberg asked her to potentially star in the flick. Ralph was moved to tears by the offer, which came just after Goldberg had invited her to take part in a planned Sister Act reunion on The View.
“We’re in the process of putting together [Sister Act] 3. Would you come be part of it, whatever it is?” Goldberg asked Ralph, whose eyes welled up with tears as she exclaimed Goldberg’s name. The Emmy Award-winning actress had a small part in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit as the mother of one of Goldberg’s students.
Ralph appeared on the ABC talk show to celebrate the return of Abbott Elementary, which kicked off its newest season on Wednesday, February 7.
