Arthur Williams presents credentials to President Xi Jinping
Jamaica’s
ambassador to China Arthur Williams last Wednesday presented his credentials to President Xi Jinping in what was described as “a grand ceremony” at Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Accompanied by his wife Jala Bernard-Williams, Ambassador Williams commenced the formalities with a member of protocol from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs arriving at the Jamaican Chancery to escort Williams in a luxury car to the ceremony.
After ascending 62 stairs with military fanfare echoing through the grand hall, Ambassador Williams presented President Xi with his credentials, further reaffirming the diplomatic relationship between the two nations.
Upon return to the Jamaican Chancery, the Jamaican flag proudly adorned the vehicle, setting the stage for continued partnership between Jamaica and China.
