Volcanoes win toss, ask Scorpions to bat first

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Windward Islands Volcanoes won the toss and asked Jamaica Scorpions to bat on the first morning of the regional four-day season opening match at Sabina Park.

The Jermaine Blackwood-captained Scorpions have left out Jeavor Royal and Ramaal Lewis from their eleven. The Volcanoes, skippered by Kimani Melius, have omitted Keron Cottoy and Darel Cyrus.

Last season the Volcanoes finished second behind champions Guyana Harpy Eagles, while the Scorpions were last.

Teams: Scorpions — Jermaine Blackwood (captain), Marquino Mindley (vice-captain), Carlos Brown, Kirk McKenzie, Chadwick Walton, Nkrumah Bonner, Peat Salmon, Abhijai Mansingh, Romaine Morris, Derval Green, Gordon Bryan.
Volcanoes — Kimani Melius (captain), Ryan John (vice-captain), Jeremy Solozano, Sunil Ambris, Johann Jeremiah, Shadrack Descarte, Tevyn Walcott, Shamar Springer, Kenneth Dember, Daurius Martin, Shermon Lewis.
