Tevin Foster replies with four
RADDESH Roman’s win streak throughout the weekend of racing for Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28, which saw him overtake leader Tevin Foster in the jockeys’ title race, earned a rapid-fire response from Foster.
Roman, who had returned from a two-race suspension, won eight races in two days — two on Saturday and six the next day. Foster only got one win on Saturday and went without a win on Sunday. After the weekend Roman led with 13 victories to Foster’s nine.
But Foster’s statement was made on Saturday, February 3, 2024 when he rode four winners to join Roman, who was winless, on 13 winners at the top of the standings.
Foster’s winners were Speed On Wheels for trainer Howard Jaghai, She’s A Godgift for trainer Leroy Thompson, Bern Notice for trainer Rohan Crichton, and Kem for trainer Paul Swaby.
The win aboard Speed On Wheels was in the Eight Thirty Sprint over five furlongs (1,000m) straight while the victory atop Kem was in Division One of the George HoSang Trophy going 5½ furlongs (1,100m).
“Confidence is 100 per cent for me right now. I mean, I have been working really hard, and the horses I have been getting on are some lovely ones and they feel so great in the mornings so when they come on race days I am confident they are very high,” Foster told the
Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
