Contract killer alleges implicating son in Beachy Stout murder plot to protect co-accused
Confessed contract killer and murder convict, Denvalyn “Bubbla” Minott, made a damning claim on Wednesday, stating that he implicated his son in a murder plot to protect Oscar Barnes.
Oscar Barnes is currently on trial for murder in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston along with Everton “Beachy Stout” McDonald in connection with the murder of McDonald’s second wife, Tonia McDonald.
Tonia was murdered on the main road in Sherwood Forest in Portland on July 20, 2020.
Minott, arrested for the murder, confessed to being the contractor in the killing. He claimed that he was hired by McDonald to murder Tonia for $3 million. He alleged that while he did not commit the actual murder, Barnes completed the mission.
On one of the 38 phone call recordings Minott claimed he captured, he was heard telling a man he said was McDonald that he had brought his son with him to commit a crime allegedly at McDonald’s house in Dolphin Bay, Portland, which he shared with Tonia.
Christopher Townsend, one of five attorneys-at-law representing McDonald, asked Minott during the trial on Wednesday if he was planning on sacrificing his son for Barnes.
On the recording, the man purported to be McDonald, requested that Minott explain who he brought to the house with him.
Minott told the man on the recording that he brought his son and a driver with him.

In court on Wednesday, Minott claimed that his son “was never really there”.
“I told the police that I went to the house with my son and my driver because I was saving Mr Barnes. I also told the police that Mr McDonald was involved. I just told Mr Beachy Stout that my son was there to keep him off of Mr Barnes,” Minott claimed.
Townsend asked Minott if he had informed the police of the driver’s name.
“I never told the police the name of this driver. They never asked,” Minott replied.
Townsend’s follow-up question was, “did the police lock up your son?”
Minott said that cops brought his son with him to the Criminal Investigations Branch but claimed he didn’t “know if they locked him up.”
