Sagicor to terminate receivership as iCreate pays up
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sagicor has confirmed that all amounts owing from iCreate Limited to the bondholder and the trustee have been paid in full.
“Consequently, the receivership will be terminated,” Sagicor said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
Sagicor said it is happy at this outcome and wishes iCreate all the best going forward.
iCreate Limited is a digital and creative conglomerate based in Kingston. Last April, iCreate announced the resignation of founder Tyrone Wilson as its president, chief executive officer (CEO), and director. As such, Ivan Carter will serve as interim chairman of the board of directors, and Arlene Martin will serve as interim president and CEO.
Then in November, it was revealed that Wilson muscled his way back onto the company’s board, using his majority holding in the entity. Wilson’s return had been accompanied by the removal of four directors from the company’s board — Arlene Martin, Ricardo Allen, Dainya-Joy Wint and Ivan Carter — along with the exit of Crichton Mullings & Associates as the company’s auditors. This all occurred at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) last Friday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
