Samsung Galaxy S24 series to provide Instagram users with HDR Image Quality, a first for android users
SAMSUNG users and content creators are in for an enhanced Instagram experience with the latest Galaxy S24 series as the groundbreaking trio of devices will for the first time allow seamless integration of device image quality on to the platform.
Not only can users experience the same high-quality visuals on Instagram as captured on their Samsung devices, but the compatibility extends further with the inclusion of Samsung’s innovative “Motion” photo format.
This innovative feature enhances the photography experience, allowing Samsung enthusiasts to seamlessly share their high-quality visuals on the popular social media platform with unprecedented ease and clarity.
This was revealed at a recent round table conversation featuring the man behind the Samsung cameras, Dr Joshua Sungdae Cho, executive vice-president and head of Visual Solution Team, Samsung Electronics.
“With Instagram, Samsung users will be able to enjoy the same image quality as on the device. Additionally, Samsung’s “Motion” photo format is also compatible with Instagram now. The platform will recognise this format and let users play on Instagram as well,” he noted.
Samsung users have often voiced challenges maintaining the quality of HDR images from their phones on the Instagram platform, resulting from poor optimisation. In response, Samsung and Instagram’s collaboration guarantees that photos taken with the Galaxy S24 series retain their exceptional quality, offering users an enhanced and hassle-free experience.
Instagram now recognises and supports this dynamic format, enabling users to share and play their Motion photos directly on the platform, ushering in a new era of creative expression and immersive storytelling for Samsung enthusiasts.
In addition, the smartphone manufacturer also revealed that both Instagram and Snapchat can now leverage Samsung’s native camera features seamlessly when capturing photos directly within their respective apps.
In relation to the overall improved camera experience, Cho emphasised that these significant achievements required an extensive development period before reaching the market. “Our team dedicated over two years to the development of this feature,” he stated.
The Galaxy S24 series will be available for purchase on January 31. This year’s pre-order bonus, which began on January 17, is a storage upgrade, with Samsung offering double storage at no extra cost.
