Missing man found dead in Mandeville
MANCHESTER, Jamaica— The body of a man who was reported missing since Monday was found in bushes in the upscale Mandeville community of Ingleside on Wednesday.
Relatives identified him as Collin Watts, 52, a land surveyor and resident of Hanbury, near Ingleside.
His sister, Kay Watts, told Observer Online that her brother went missing on Monday after he left home to exercise in the community.
“We have been searching for him from Monday. He went missing on Monday. He went for a walk and today Wednesday we came across the body off the road on Tangerine Drive in a little ravine [ditch]… I don’t think there is any foul play or anything like that,” she said.
She added that her brother was showing signs of depression.
“He has been under stress for a little time now and a part of the reason he went to exercise on Monday morning was to release some of the stress,” she said.
“Everybody is devastated at this point. The whole family has been looking for him from Monday and that in itself is very devastating and now that we have come across the body it is even harder for us,” she added.
Up to late Wednesday, police had cordoned off a section of Tangerine Drive to process the scene.
