Easy does it for KP Choice
On Saturday, January 27, 2024, speed merchant KP Choice had no difficulty stepping down to claiming company, as the five-year-old bay horse easily led home competitors down the five-furlong (1,000m) straight course.
KP Choice, who last raced at the Overnight Allowance level on December 17, 2023, easily won the three-year-old and upward Claiming ($1 million – $800,000) by 4 lengths in a time of 1:01.2 (23.0 x 46.3) ahead of
Katalina (Tevin Foster) and
Gilbert (Shane Richardson).
With Robert Halledeen in the irons the Ricardo Brown
KP Choice matched speed with
Bugatti (Samantha Fletcher) and
Phoenix Risen (Shamaree Muir) in the early exchanges. Coming across the dummy rails,
KP Choice and
Phoenix Risen came away in a battle of their own but the former then began to pull away and ran out an easy winner in the end.
