Jaydon Hibbert confirms Puma deal
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Triple-jumper Jaydon Hibbert on Sunday confirmed that he has inked a professional contract with German sporting goods giants, Puma.
The move was officially announced on Monday by Hibbert, who posted several photos on his Instagram account in Puma apparel with the caption “Super excited for this journey with the fam!”
Dropping hints of the partnership last week, Hibbert announced he was ending his National Collegiate Athletics Association career as a member of the University of Arkansas team and joining the professional ranks.
“Well, it’s kinda obvious,” Hibbert responded with a laugh when he was asked the question by Observer Online during a virtual press conference on Sunday.
Hibbert had signed a Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) deal with Puma late in his freshman year at Arkansas and had competed in Puma spikes at the Hercules Diamond League meet in Monaco and also at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association’s national championships and the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary last year.
