SO2 ONE LOVE!
Kingston, Jamaica, played host to a reggae extravaganza this past week, when the highly anticipated
Bob Marley: One Love
biopic made its world premiere at Carib 5. The red-carpet affair brought together the film’s stars, industry luminaries, and surprise royal guests, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Harry and Meghan.
The biopic — which stars British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir as the reggae legend and Rock-blooded actress Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley — marks the first time that Bob Marley’s musical journey will be spotlighted on the big screen. It depicts Marley’s life during the period 1976 – 1978 and is executive-produced by Orly Marley, wife of the reggae icon’s eldest son Ziggy, Richard Hewitt and Matt Solodky. On co-producer duties are Rita Marley, offsprings Ziggy and Cedella, Robert Teitel, Jeremy Kleiner, and Dede Gardner.
Several up-and-coming artistes like Naomi Cowan (who plays Marcia Griffiths) and Sevana (who plays Judy Mowatt), made their film debut in the Paramount Pictures production set for general release on February 14, 2024.
