Truck overturns on Spur Tree Hill
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The driver of a truck narrowly escaped serious injury after the heavy unit overturned on the Spur Tree Hill main road on Saturday.
Residents told Observer Online that about 10:00 am, the truck laden with tiles and other supplies was travelling down Spur Tree Hill when the driver lost control of the unit resulting in it going off-road and overturning. The top of the truck was ripped open as a result of the crash.
The driver managed to climb out of the vehicle.
This is the third crash on Spur Tree Hill since the start of the year.
On January 15, a policeman was injured following an oil spill-induced multi-vehicle crash on Spur Tree Hill.

On January 9, two occupants of a truck transporting steel narrowly escaped injuries after the unit crashed into a jerk centre.
The accident-prone Spur Tree main road links Mandeville and its environs to St Elizabeth and points west. Heavily laden, slow-moving trucks often hinder traffic on the steep, difficult hill, and there have been a number of fatal crashes involving trucks over the years.
