St Elizabeth brothers granted bail in gun, ammo case
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Two St Elizabeth brothers, charged jointly with their father and his girlfriend following the seizure of two firearms and a quantity of ammunition, were granted bail when they appeared in court on Thursday.
The brothers , Romeo Williams, 35, and Malcolm Williams, 40, were each offered bail in the sum of $2 million when they appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish Court in Santa Cruz.
Their father Dudley Williams, 64, and his girlfriend Shantal Richards, 28, were previously offered bail.
The four people were all charged jointly with possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, stockpiling ammunition and using premises for storing prohibited weapon.
The charges stem from a raid on a premises in Pepper, St Elizabeth on January 16, which led to the seizure of two firearms and over 100 rounds of assorted ammunition.
The Williams brothers are to surrender their travel documents and a stop order was imposed. They are to report to the police three times weekly and are to reside in Pepper for the duration of the case. They are being represented by attorneys Thomas Levene and Michael Deans.
They are to return to court on July 24 where the matter will be transferred to the Gun Court Division of the Elizabeth Circuit Court.
